If you finish a run with 12 picked up, you just wasted 100 common debris for nothing.Īnd that certainly is an issue that should be looked into because it's well beyond the player's control whether you get a number of white items that's evenly divisible by 15 or not in any particular run (unless you go to the tedium of picking up white items and only dropping 15 at a time which is kinda insane). I got one and did keeps 2, stonefort, and the 2 towers of the damned and it finally dropped an item at the end of the 2nd tower. It does still have the problem of not keeping track between games. In order to get those extra legendaries (which might actually be good if you're short on legendary crafting mats) you have to sacrifice something. It's a good thing that Puzzle Ring has a downside. It's about making choices, not making items that are BiS in every single situation. No different than if you don't want to use Disintegrate on your wizard then you don't equip Slorak's Madness. Puzzle Ring? If you don't want whites then equip it. You sacrifice some weapon damage for a major spell-specific buff that makes it better than any other item in that slot if you use that spell. Slorak's Madness, for example, isn't great. Most of the legendaries involve some kind of tradeoff. I really dont want to give all whites and greys to the goblin. This makes the goblin not useless as most of the whites he takes will be returned, allowing players to still have their goblin, their whites, and possibly legendaries if the goblin feels nice. So the Goblin will grab a white off the ground, then throw the item back out, with the chance of it being white, blue, yellow, orange or green. Maybe instead of collecting white items the Goblin merely trades them. What would really be cool is a change to the puzzle ring. Trust me though, clicking through those racks in act 3 will yield plenty of common debris. People have be trained so long to ignore that shit that it take a little effort to remember to click and gather them for the crafting mats. You have to make a point in clicking them in order to collect your white items. However I will point out that whites almost always drop from armor and weapon racks throughout the game. The Common debris it just too important for crafting to ever be worth the goblin stealing all your whites. It sounds great as an idea, but in practice it really doesn't work out.
